AAAAHHHHHH...the joys of moving!!

Just wanted to update and let everyone know that we are sincerely alive and surviving the move so far.

The base moving office (TMO) claimed they needed 5 days to pack us. I was going to give the moving company an ear full if they sent just one packer. AS time got closer the moving rep called and asked lots of questions. Turned out he sent 4 packers on Day one, 5 on day two and are done. They load the truck Monday and we twiddle our fingers until Thursday. Seriously, this moving company is FABULOUS and travel 1 1/2 hours to get here. They arrived each day at 10 am and checked out at 4pm the first day and 3pm the next. So, it didn't even take 2 full days to pack us. The original plan was to pack us Wed-Monday and load the truck Tuesday, clean Wed and leave good ole Oklahoma on Thursday. NOW, they're loading the truck Monday and we can lolly-gag cleaning as our housing inspection is on Thursday morning.

If all goes as planned we'll arrive in Ohio late Friday night :) I'm so excited.

I'll try to get you a few pics soon.

Oh, Tommy Boy turned 7 months old on this past Wednesday. he weighed in at 13 lbs, 8 ozs. He gained 16 ounces in 19 days. He got his iron levels tested and I should find out if he's okay on Monday. The iron supplement is nasty, so I'm praying his levels are good and he can remain off the iron drops.

Baskon

This was my Mom's prized stallion. This was her favorite horse. Her friend Linda took this picture years ago, probably a good 25 yrs ago! She loaned the picture to me to copy and frame. I'm so pleased with how it turned out. For me, it's exciting to have such a beautiful, special memory of Mom's in my house.
Pardon the packaging material on it. I just got it in the mail yesterday and want it to stay protected for the move!

Tommy's first time swimming...

He'd rate it a "2" on a scale of 1 to 10 :) Definitely had other fun things on his mind! The first one was showing how huge the smallest swim diaper was on him... The second is him testing the water waiting for "adult swim" to be over, and the last one he's trying to find the fun of swimming. Maybe another time...or next year!!!

Hey, look at Bald-y...

This was last Saturday for Col Everhart's farewell dinner all his exec's shaved their heads. We let Kaitlyn do most of the shaving!

Busy, busy, busy! 4 days until the packers arrive!

Okay...so the packers come in 4 days. I've been cleaning and sorting like crazy. I keep taking stuff to consign at the base thrift store and each time I think it's the last trip. I am starting to think there is no "last trip"....

July 11, 2007- Tommy waking up to start a new day!! 6 1/2 months old. 12 1/2 pounds! I just love the progression and streches!!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
July 12, 2007- Tommy 6 1/2 months old, could this be?? Already??? Time is just flying by! Tommy is definitely showing us he's tired of being treated like a baby. He is so tired of lying flat on his back or in the reclining position. I actually gave his bouncy seat to a friend the other day. Lately he just fusses more if I left him sitting in it. I have instead pulled out this infant to toddler rocking chair...he's liking it as he sits more upright in it.
July 15, 2007- Here are some super cute pictures of Kimberlyn watering the flowers....
YOU ARE SO RIGHT....she's definitely not watering the flowers!!! See she was super bummed that Robby, Kaitlyn and their friend Will were going to the creek at the end of our street. See they go "fishing" with a net for any creatures. Kimberlyn can only go if Dad goes -which he did the day before. I decided to have her water my flowers to distract her. It worked...besides the fact that she watered herself. But, oh such fun pictures!!
Pictures, pictures and more pictures :)
Aren't these the cutest boys you've ever seen!!! Enjoy!
Tommy 6/23/07- 6 months old in Robby's outfit.
Robby 3 months old ~ June 1998.
Tommy 6/23/07- 6 months old, balanced, not quite sitting yet! Copying Robby's bragging pose below.
Robby 5 months old, August 1998 bragging that he can sit alone :)
Now that the pictures are right together...they are definitely brothers, but have their own unique looks. Plain and simply handsome, huh?
Tommy will kill us....
If we pull this picture out when he's older! Kaitlyn put her headband on Tommy while at the neighbor's house for dinner.
So the kids and I met up with my brother Robb and his family in Wichita, KS over the weekend. We had a nice, but too short visit! The kids LOVE their Aunts and Uncles and Kimberlyn didn't grasp why all the other aunts and uncles weren't coming too. We went to this children's museum and then everyone but Mom and Tommy went for a morning swim. Tommy needed a nap, so we went back to the room for him to nap and pack! Uncle Robb and Aunt Jess returned with the kids 30 minutes before checkout!
Getting fresh air and looking below for water creatures....
Girls playing on the ponies by the castle.
Just like Dad...computer game junkie!
Waiting on everyone to get ready for breakfast, sporting Aunt Jess' sunglasses.
So Tommy had his first poopy blowout, like REAL blowout...
ALL CLEAN and HAPPY!!
Then, while in Wichita we went to PF Changs for lunch. I was eating food I couldn't even tell what it was and all of a sudden I smell this terrible, nasty stench. I looked down at Tommy sitting on my lap and it appeared that he must have been diaper-less as there was so much poo on my leg. THANK GOD I was wearing shorts :) My brother, Robb got me napkins and Jess held Tommy with a napkin covering his leg. I tried cleaning up the poo on my leg while covering it with another napkin, the dirty napkin fell poo-side down. Kimberlyn keeps saying there's poop on the floor and I tried to convince her it wasn't. Then Kaitlyn graciously says "nope, there's really poop on the floor" all I could say was "shut-up, oops I mean stop talking about it I KNOW!" I felt terrible but just wanted the kids to quit announcing that there was poop on the floor! Made for quite an entertaining lunch.... I hope this poopy-blowout stuff is a thing of the past now!
KIMBERLYN'S 4!!
Brooklynn, Kimberlyn and Megan!
Had to share a sweet picture from Kimberlyn's birthday party on Sunday. Today is her real birthday! She had a small, sweet party with two of her friends. I'll post more birthday pictures soon!
As promised...more pictures!
Here's the Kimberlyn with her sis and brothers! What a cute picture this turned out to be!
Kimberlyn so excited about her cake. She must have taken 4 blows to actually blow out all FOUR candles!
Kaitlyn reading Kimberlyn's card from Aunt Jess and Uncle Robb.
Robby video taping the party!
The pinata! Well, the mesquitoes are T-E-R-R-I-B-L-E here and the weather had been raining so much we decided to keep her small party inside. Luckily the pinata had the pull strings. Larry and Brooklynn's dad held the pinata while I divided up the pull strings between the 5 kids. We counted ONE, TWO, THREE for the kids to pull. Man, we'd won America's Funniest Home Videos...SOMEHOW, one string was not accounted for and didn't get pulled. This was THE ONE string that actually pulled the pinata open! The kids all just looked around puzzled when no candy fell. Kaitlyn acted fast and pulled the lone string....
Larry's Fini-Flight...
June 26, 2007
One sad day in Larry's Air Force career. His last C-5 flight...possibly last ever. Only time will tell WHAT he will fly after his 18 months of school to get his masters in Ohio and then his 4 years of flying his desk at Scott AFB, IL :) Yes we pretty much know where we'll be until 2013!! SCARY, HUH?
Everyone gets a final (fini) flight before moving on...tradition has it that they get doused with very cold water and champagne after flying their last flight. They also get to have their children or family marshal them in. Larry's fini-flight was with another guy, Mike...so Robby marshaled Dad in with Mike's daughter. Kaitlyn was a wing-walker. Kimberlyn hung on to me confused and half-scared due to the commotion and loudness of the C-5. Tommy was in the front pack carrier and was content as usual. The noise did not phase him one bit!
A special thanks to our friend Steve for helping catch such fabulous pictures of this special day. Enjoy...
Larry getting the cooler full of ICE and water dumped on him by a friend in the squadron.
Robby blasting Dad with the super soaker...that was loaded with ICE WATER!
56AS Commander, LtCol Kremer helping Kimberlyn squirt her Dad! I missed this, so glad Steve caught this precious shot!
Kaitlyn pumping up to be sure she has good pressure to shoot her Dad! Poor Dad!
The Nance Family!!
June 28, 2007
The 56 Airlift Squadron's Farewell Dinner
The C-5 Schoolhouse is moving to San Antonio, so this was another sad day. We've had a nice time as a family here at Altus and Larry has enjoyed his job of teaching pilots to fly the C-5.
They had this C-5 on display and opened up the nose so people could walk in and tour it. They even set up a bar in there! It was neat. This is the same jet Larry did his fini-flight in. It was being signed for the flyover during the Closing Ceremony the next day.
This is two of the highlights on the wall highlighting the past decades....thought it was cool.
Larry flew the C-5 in the 2005 RODEO competiton!
Tommy's (6 months old) first tour of the C-5...okay he got a true, in flight tour in-utero last November when we "hopped" and flew on the C-5 to Florida.
