Kaitlyn's Blue Thumb...

UPDATED: November 28 Kaitlyn's thumb looking more blue but feeling much better :)

Okay....I didn't get a before picture and you're thinking this isn't very blue. Oh my, had you seen the before shot....you'd been feeling woozy too...this was right before church 8 hours after the ER visit.

Kaitlyn went out with Dad shopping on Saturday. She was thrilled and giddy about the huge snowflakes falling. She got out of the car and slammed her thumb in the door. The door was actually latched on her thumb, somehow she managed to open the door herself before Dad got to her and then simple fell to the ground in pain. It immediately turned black and blue. We iced it and then after a few hours gave her Motrin to help with the pain.

She went to bed and about 3hrs later she woke hysterical in pain...I seriously can't handle blood, or my kids in serious pain. I sat alone in the bathroom as Larry and her talked about WHAT to do. I felt as if I was going to pass out...I just don't do blood at all. (I know how pitiful- there was NO bleeding, it was all under her nail)

We were out of Motrin and we knew at this point as the swelling changed so much in three hours that she had to go to the ER anyhow...She asked for me to take her...yeah, right! Love ya, but I think Daddy is a better choice! Dad took her in and they burned a hole in her nail to release the pressure and drain the blood. The process was fast and not really more painful than the pain she was enduring at the time anyhow. She also got herself some more Motrin :)

She woke in the morning at 6am thanks to her baby bro. This is his new standard wake up time. NOT FUN AT ALL! She insisted on going to church. Larry and I decided we were skipping as we all had a very long night and didn't get sleep. How do you tell a sweet girl no to going to worship our Heavenly Father...

I'm off to catch a nap....I'm STILL Not caught up on sleep!

Fall Fun...

Enjoy....pictures from the other evening!

Cameras and Nances don't mix....

Tommy was playing with our camera. Our camera is like 6 months old as the last one got attacked by a soccer ball at a soccer game of Robby's... Trouble T KNOWS he is not allowed to touch the camera, but that doesn't stop him. The camera was on the computer desk STILL PLUGGED in from my last picture download. When I caught sight of the situation it was HANGING from the cord and just before I could grab it, the cord unplugged and the camera fell about 12 inches to the carpet......I thought it was spared damage. That was until Kaitlyn was out in the rain selling hot chocolate using the hatch to my van for shelter in our driveway. Definitely picture worthy....also Tommy was using a snow shovel in the rain on the driveway...again picture worthy.

That would be when I realized the camera was in fact broken :( I was so mad/ill feeling all I could do was smile. In fact, I'm shocked he hasn't gotten his hands on the camera sooner....wait, his hands are on it daily as we don't have a high enough spot to store it. Seriously as Larry was upset with me, and suggested I put it on the kitchen counter....if you REALLY know me, that counter is not a safe place. To top it off Tommy either opens the dishwasher door and uses it as a step stool, or actually gets the real step stool and gets anything and everything he wants off the counter.

Anyhow....THIS MORNING when I went to get Tommy up he was completely OUT and had his legs so darn adorably crossed and stuck out the crib slats I had to take a picture to share...his bedroom is not big what so ever....especially with a loft bed for his sis in there. Imagine trying to use this big telephoto lens to capture the sweet pictures below...YES, I did crawl up on the loft bed for the second shot. What moms do for the perfect pictures :)

PS...thankfully the camera is FINE, just the lens needs to be fixed or replaced. Still not ready to trade him in....

This past week's happenings....

So how appropriate to start a post with this....this is Tommy every single morning after eating breakfast. He gets out of his highchair and sneaks out of sight. Right about the time I realize he's too quiet to be up to any good....he comes down brushing his teeth...with whomever's tooth brush was in reach. SOMEHOW the toothpaste is always in reach :) November 3rd.

Teefee-Brusher....

Then I had Kimberlyn claiming this was cute and I should take a picture of it...I think she was right on the money! ADORABLE...

JUMPING...Kaitlyn in her very own saddle!! Nov 3rd.

NOTICE her purple-ish stirrup pads...

Thought it was cool that my shadow is in this picture...

November 4th...Shaw Elementary 3rd Graders Veteran's Day Program Kaitlyn singing her heart out. It was a very special program honor all veterans. There were a few grandpas there and they teared up causing a chain reaction. So special for those children to have local grandparents. Biggest downfall to this military life on the run we live! Kaitlyn was very proud to have her Daddy there as they requested the military members come in uniform.

November 6th...While browsing at Once Upon a Child resale shop I found THIS. It's a wooden restaurant style highchair. I was ready to do away with his huge deluxe highchair and have Tommy join us at the table for meals. He's just not ready for the foam type booster without STRAPS quite yet, this is smaller and still has STRAPS! Sure helps with the lack of extra space in our dining area! Growing up too darn fast! Way too close to two years old!

Trick or Treating...

We had a blast last night Trick or Treating....nuts they don't hold it on HALLOWEEN here, but we still had fun!

Think this is my favorite from the evening....just precious and NOT posed :)

Tommy.....fussed, kicked, cried....you get the idea...wasn't very happy to be Pooh Bear...Mom bribed him with Chex mix ...hehehe, it worked and that's what matters! Keysers....do you recall Kaitlyn in that Pooh costume :) Time has flown by...seems like yesterday!

Tommy not willing to pose for a picture....

Tommy being forced to participate in a picture :)

We gave up and settled on this of the older three....Snow White, Cinderella with their body guard, the Ninja dude.

Kaitlyn and Tommy trick or treating...man he's got the life...she is absolutely amazing with him....he had fun after warming up to her new color hair. It scared him at first. oops! Notice Snow White's shoes...thanks to Aunt Erin....she gave these to Kaitlyn to use as dress-up. Kaitlyn managed to get her Daddy to let her wear them to the airport to pick me up back in MArch and we both were fed up and let her trick or treat in them....she's close to outgrowing them....in the trash they will soon be :)

Uh-oh, Pooh Bear down...

Tommy's true love...BIRDS, they just make him stop everything anytime...should have snapped a picture of the huge flock of birds...next time :)

Finally, Tommy and his messy face peeking on Mommy. He was just minutes away from bed. I asked if he wanted milk, he nodded no. I think he was too full of candy as he "hung" with Dad and Kimberlyn for quite a long while! I told him let's go teefy-brush and get your blankie, he said "nigh-nigh"....LOVE it, he so is doing just perfectly fine at his own pace...he doesn't need speech. Whatever...I have decided (as of this week) to stick it out with speech therapy until we move in March.

Tonight in the parking lot he heard dogs barking and said "ruff-ruff" and then heard a train and said "choo-choo" both of these sounds were heard at dark where he couldn't see the dog or train. I'm biased, but so very proud of him! We had a fun evening with my cousin Trevor and his wife tonight as his show was here near our house!

Earlier today Tommy went in to get his flu shot...he did fine, hurt him more to take away his popcorn than the actual shot. Mom messed up, I should have waited to get the popcorn AFTER the shot....BUT every time Kimberlyn goes to the clinic with me the popcorn isn't there...today it was and it was the priority.....Tommy getting the flu shot is not my point...or the popcorn....THE POINT is this Thomas the Tank NOW WEIGHS 24 POUNDS 11 OUNCES....at 22 months old. This is exactly 22 lbs gained in his 22 months of life ~hehehe~ he's come so far and is doing so well...

P U M P K I N S

Last night....
The kids carved their pumpkins. From cleaning, tracing patterns and then cutting they had very little help. Mom and Dad wanted to help, but help was not invited or welcomed what so ever! These kids did a great job, maybe just a bit too darn independent though!
Yes, dad was video-taping Mom taking pictures of the event. NOW,it's documented that we took pictures AND video-taped the night!
Tommy getting in on the action...
Poking out a pattern...Kimberlyn drawing her pattern...

I'm telling you, we should have named him "Mikey" ~ he eats anything or at least tries it. this is far better than horse food, dog food, cat food, bunny treats...you get the idea...he's tried it all!

The finished products in action...

Grand Finale...

Trouble T doesn't learn...

Okay......he hasn't been BAD, but I thought this was super funny this morning....10 months ago he did this for the first time, read here. Today he did this just two months shy of turning two AND all the while wearing his new shirt from Miss Wendy.

Notice what the shirt says "This is my TIME OUT SHIRT, I wear it all day long!"
